Hard Blues Trio and Gui Cicarelli Turn the Power of Texas Blues into “Texas Storm”
New single pays tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan and grows out of a connection forged during Tyrone Vaughan’s Brazilian tour
The guitar as a force of nature. That is the central image behind “Texas Storm,” the new single by Hard Blues Trio feat. Gui Cicarelli, a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan and a celebration of the intensity of electric blues.
The track brings together the Brazilian band and the São Paulo-based guitarist in a collaboration that began away from the recording studio. The connection was forged during the Brazilian tour of Tyrone Vaughan, Stevie Ray Vaughan’s nephew. At the time, Hard Blues Trio served as Tyrone’s backing band in Rio Grande do Sul, while Gui Cicarelli played with Tyrone’s backing band in São Paulo. Those shared experiences around Tyrone’s music opened the way for the collaboration.
In “Texas Storm,” the storm becomes a metaphor for the power of the blues. The lyrics move through images of heavy rain, rivers, tornadoes, and a guitar that seems to howl through the night: “Six strings crying / Howlin’ through the night.” In the chorus, the storm coming from Texas takes on an emotional dimension, while the guitar and its bends drive the narrative.
The tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan emerges not only through the song’s theme, but also through its musical language. The lyrics evoke passion, ups and downs, guitar sessions, and expressive bends — elements closely associated with the imagery of Texas blues and Vaughan’s lasting influence.
The title “Texas Storm” captures the concept: a storm that is not only atmospheric, but musical. A force that builds, reaches the listener, and turns the guitar into the protagonist.
With this release, Hard Blues Trio continues its blues-centered journey, now alongside Gui Cicarelli in a track that connects different stage experiences with a reference who remains fundamental to the genre.
“Texas Storm” — Hard Blues Trio feat. Gui Cicarelli
A tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan through the power of guitars, a passion for the blues, and a connection forged between musicians.

Texas Storm
(Hard Blues Trio feat. Gui Cicarelli)
Six strings crying
Howlin’ through the night
Heavy rain this morning
Flooding deep inside
The strongest storm
With rivers made of rain
But a storm that comes from Texas
Never blows in vain
A lot of passion
Ups and downs
Guitar session
Bending all around
Like a tornado
That sweeps everything away
Texas Storm
Blowin’ louder every day
Texas Storm
Flooding my soul
Texas Storm
There's no way to go
Texas Storm
Put me on my knees
Texas Storm
(take this)
Solo
A lot of passion
Ups and downs
Guitar session
Bending all around
Like a tornado
That sweeps everything away
Texas Storm
Blowin’ louder every day
Texas Storm
Flooding my soul
Texas Storm
There's no way to go
Texas Storm
Put me on my knees
Texas Storm
Texas Storm
Texas Storm
